"…based on Trinity, I can say: Division – US Metal that does not suck. Period." - Marcel Haster, ProgressiveWorld.net
"…Division brings a driving record filled with a crunch laden riff structure, going from a straightforward early Maiden-meets-Sabbath riff grind to more emotional, dark pastures, putting all those elements in their places throughout the record." -Hashman, RevelationZ Magazine,

"Trinity," released on MetalAges Records in 2004, is by far the most intense Division album to date.
From the ripping opener "Eleventh Hour" through the grind of "Tapping the Vein," and culminating with the epic "No World Order," Trinity showcases the band's energy and aggression while retaining a strong sense of melody. Strong enough, in fact, to be featured in the seminal German underground magazine Heavy, Oder Was?! and included in the accompanying Metal Crusade VII sampler. The band continues its tradition of a powerful live set with appearances at the Powerfest II and Classic Metal Fest IV resulting in new exposure for the band.
Division is a band with a long - and somewhat infamous - history in the U.S. metal underground. They started life as Visionary in 1993 and made a splash upon their local scene with both live shows and a successful single, "Time Between Times." By 1995, the band had amassed enough interest to record their first CD "Paradise Lost."
Based on traditional metal influences, yet with modern touches, the self-released disc quickly sold out its first pressing. The band's ferocious live shows - including several Powermad festivals, appearances with Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Fates Warning and Savatage - quickly established them as one of the premier live acts in the metal underground.
Their second CD "Ascension to Eternity" (Seigen Records) showcased a new maturity in the bans sound while still maintaining the energy of their debut, and once again the disc quickly sold out. More successful shows with King Diamond, Savatage, Nevermore and Iced Earth followed. The metal press latched on to the band in the U.S. and Europe with excellent reviews in magazines including Metal Maniacs, Snakepit, Metal Hammer (Greece) and Feast or Famine.
Building upon that success would prove to be a challenge for Division. In the process of creating their third album "Trinity," Division endured several lineup changes and substantial hurdles to the album's release. Throughout this time, Division appeared on many tribute albums including "Return of the Mountain King - A Tribute to Savatage" ( Progressive Arts) and "Phantom Lords" (WWIII) with versions of their live favorites "Power of the Night" and "Creeping Death" respectively.
Ultimately, this disc has created a leaner, more focused direction for the band.
"…(a) headbanging mantra that is fueled upon the hard driving melodic stance that Division creates." -Hashman, RevelationZ Magazine, http://www.revelationz.net

Trinity's blessings....inspired, insightful, intense!
author: Fraulein
Division's latest CD infuses the listener's environment with a range of emotions projected through both the intelligence of the lyrics and the intensity of the music. Although classified at times as a thrash band, Division's sound on the effort is tighter, cleaner and more powerful than your average thrash band. Trinity's lyrics show a maturity different from other efforts in the genre, and lend an air of insightfulness to the feelings of those questioning the status quo which exists in society. Guitars, vocals, and drums on Trinity all interweave to leave the impression of a well-produced and impressive sound. It is a rockin' effort on the part of a band that clearly enjoys refining itself while performing music that pleases its fans. A must have CD, and a must see show live! ( I would add that Testament fans would enjoy this band as well as those listed on this site!)

What metal ought to be!

Trinity remains my favorite Division CD to date; you're taken on a roller coaster ride from songs such as "Tapping the Vein" to "Trinity (No Exit)", never compromising the chemistry that makes the band what they are. They play outstandingly well and don't pull any punches. There are no gimmicks present in a lot of today's so-called "metal"; no screaming lyrics (I love Nick's voice, melodic yet angry, I call it), and every instrument has its own niche, and fits well together (I find drums fascinating).

I really like this cd. Every track is different, but equally superb. The guitar work is excellent and Division produces a unique sound. When seeing them live there are no surprises, they sound almost identical to this cd. My favorite part of Trinity would be how all the lyrics relate in a small way that you might miss if you aren't paying attention. Its a worthy investment and I look forward to a new cd in the near future.
