Album Notes

Gamma Function starts out on the East coast urban breaks scene with the
likes of Criminal Element Orchestra, Huda Hudia, Miraj and Lee Coombs with
their crunchy, groovy breakbeat style. Then it slowly moves out towards the
West, into the progressive club scene with tracks by New Order, Tendroid and
Hydrogen Rockers, and finally out into the desert with some very uplifting
progressive trance selections by Redback, Cimmera, Sonic Infusion and Oko
Tek. This mix offers a great variety of music in several different
electronica genres and I hope you enjoy the music.

Breaks mixed with Progressive. Fantastic!!!
author: Jennifer Warner
Starting out with some great breaks, sounds like a remix with the classic sample 'put the needle on the record,' the electronic beeping and sweeping noises bounce along - a signal of whats to come. You may never have heard of DJ Ellis Dee nor MDMA Records, but the freedom and lack of expectations that come from combining an unknown and an indie explode into an electrifying mix. (Just for the record, this is Ellis' eight compilation.) There is a very old-school feel to the beginning of the mix - not jumping on the electro bandwagon by any means - but with big fat beats, the kind that sound incredibly fresh and had me bobbing in my seat like a Florida native. The mix gets more and more progressive as it travels along, not something that you would think would work so well until you hear it. Note too the Tendroid track, which I've heard are the duo who've been picked to mix the next Transport CD. My only wish is that it stayed in the breaks longer, or went back to it again. I'm telling you, breaks mixed with progressive. Fantastic. Just try it and see!
