Album Notes

This is the second album from multicultural alternative metal band, Djevara. Allowing their even more diverse punk and metal influences to shine through, the band harness their leanings towards alternative rock in distilling Bass's angry poetry into musical form.

Released, like their debut, on the DIY label that they established, the commitment, passion and determination are ever-present.

Having conducted self-organised tours of both UK and Europe, Djevara returned to the Orange & Blue Studio in Catford, South London, where they had recorded their first demoes, to record their sophomore album. The album ""Third World War : Cast The First Stone" is due for release in early 2007 and the newest line-up of Djevara is due to tour in the Spring. Djevara recently started running an arts/music centre out of a warehouse in North London called The Low Fidelity Disconnect.

A Simply Great Album

Third World War: Cast the First Stone is Djevara's follow up to their also great first album, God Is White. Compared to God is White, this album seems to be a complete piece. God is White seemed to be a "best of" cd from their early years but TWWCTFS feels more like an album and a complete piece. TWWCTFS flows beautifully and accomplishs what was intended for it. Most of the songs are longer than 3 minutes and the arrangements of the songs will constantly keep the listener guessing as to what is next. Personally, my favorite song on the album is "Chapter 2." The song builds up and kicks it off with a guitar riff reminiscent to RATM and a hop-hop inspired beat keeps the tempo. The song then plumments into a more alternative punk style and just shows how truly diverse the band is. The vocals take awhile to get used to, but once the listener gets used to them and understands the message trying to be conveyed, the replay value goes through the roof. Overall a great album. I personally suggest checking out "God is White" first, but "TWWCTFS" falls not far from the tree.
