DJ Screw started, created, and pioneered the art of "Screw Music." The Houston DJ made a name for himself producing 100's of underground mixtapes consisting of unreleased music, exclusive freestyles, and his signature mixing style, which found him pitching down his records to a slower pace after mixing and blending in various songs/beats together. Over the course of the '90s, what began as novelty actually became a rather lucrative venture for Screw. His influence has inspired such hits as Three 6 Mafia's "Sippin' on Some Syrup" in 2000 and several members of the Screwed Up Click have moved on to find more mainstream success including Lil' Flip's 2 platinum albums including the hits "Sunshine" & "Game Over", Yungstar and Hawk's platinum single "Wanna Be A Baller" and many more including Z-Ro, Big Moe, and the Botany Boys. Screwed & Chopped versions of albums are now being created nationwide by independent and major labels, and DJ Screw's legacy continues to grow every day.
Exclusive collector's edition DVD on DJ Screw & The Screwed Up Click, Underground Legends of the South. Features never before seen footage of DJ Screw telling his story from beginning to end, and showing the world his true talent on the turntables. Includes interviews, concerts, freestyles, and music videos with the Screwed Up Click.

Best southern DVD out
author: rapreviews.com
Screw's interview is one of the most comprehensive I've seen from any hip-hop artists. He single-handedly gives a history of rap from Houston, Texas and almost every rapper from the area finds his way onto the DVD. The only notable exceptions are the aforementioned Geto Boys, Swishahouse camp, and possibly Lil' KeKe. The fact that DJ Screw knew that much about the Houston rap scene is not as impressive as the fact that Screw was the originator and founder of the rap scene that spawned all those acts. This documentary could just as easily serve as a documentary of the Houston rap scene rather than a tribute to DJ Screw, and it would be a damn good documentary addressing that topic too.

this dvd does a good job showing you how DJ Screw started out and how some of the S.U.C. started out rapping with him. it has lots of interviews and live performances which sound great on a home system. everyone will feel a little bit of emotion come in them when they watch it all the way through and see his funeral at the end with everyone discussing how much he influenced everyone around him just by being himself and doing what he did on the turntables. pick it up!
