Album Notes

Debuting as a producer in his own right with Truth Beyond the Beat, DJ Unwind's 2006 full-length, was independently released. Gaining the attention from Libyus Music in Tokyo, a label known for distributing ambient, acid-jazz records, an international distribution deal was soon to follow.

Great album, really soothing. I agree, you get caught up/absorbed in the sound. Fans should check out the article in the latest issue of Volume One about DJ Unwind.. volumeone.org

The album has a great continuity to it without sounding repetitive. There isint a single subpar track on the disc. While listening you cant help but get absorbed by the sound. A real solid album

The style is what its all about for me. Not so much quality but the vibe I get from music when I listen is important to me. The moment I popped this cd in my stereo I felt extremely relaxed. Like it put me in another place. The drums are crisp and compliment the sample choice well. The bass is always warm and thick and sits perfectly behind his kicks. Toward the end though, I felt that some of the drums sound a bit repetitive. Not so much the drum choice but the pattern. I would like to hear this aspect worked on a little more. Give it a little more variation. But I am very pleased with the album and can't wait for his next project. Definately worth the money!
