Album Notes

David L. K. Murphy's debut EP collects the foundations of one of New York's brightest songwriters. Though native to New York, David only returned to the city in the summer of 2003 to begin the process of securing his place in the hearts of the toughest crowds and critics in New York. The EP captures the energy that has captivated a growing number of fans inside and outside the local scene.

David manages to combine the introspective and calculated style of songwriters such as Tom Waits and Elliot Smith with the power of a voice that has heralded comparisons to the likes of Jeff Buckley and Chris Martin of Coldplay.

"Home To You" follows a path through the reminiscent, the impassioned, the comical, all the way through to the darkly delighted. Collecting a range of songs written over the past five years, David's first release demonstrates a seductive control of unabashed intensity and honesty unparalleled.
