The stuff you will hear from David Michael Carpenter is unlike anything you have heard before. Although David writes his music from his Christian perspective his songs have crossed over into mainstream music much like Van Morrison. Having played professionally and recorded for many years he has a style that reaches all corners of the music world. He does all the instruments, including piano, synth, lead guitar, rythm guitars, accoustic guitars, drums, organ, lead and back up vocals and he does all the engineering, producing, recording, writing and all the artwork for the CD's themselves. Each song is painstakingly produced..handmade. There is everything from raw retro rock sounding much like the Who to very textured stuff remenicent of groups like Pink Floyd and songs that can only be categorized as 'unheard of before'. There is an amazing range of influences and each song is deeply personal and the lyrics deeply cutting and sometimes controversial. This is not background music! David writes as he is led to write with no holds barred and what has resulted is a new Chrisitan music, new hymns for today, a new kind of rock, music that can be understood and enjoyed by anyone whatever their beliefs.
