Album Notes

Although Dan McElrath has recorded numerous CD\'s for others \"DanKa\" is his first as feature artist. DanKa is a collaboration with the Dan Mac Quartet and the talent of vocalist Katie Strock to introduce her red-headed attitude and fun voice to the jazz world. The only thing better is to catch her live!
Dan McElrath is a graduate of the Furman University School of Music. He has performed for the past 30 years in venues across America covering a wide range of musical styles from gospel to contemporary jazz. Over the years Dan has worked both coasts as a studio musician on numerous recording projects and lives presently in Anchorage, Alaska as part of the Alaska music scene.
Katie Strock, originally from Pennsylvania came to Alaska via New York and Nashville. She has shown off her powerful vocal skills across the United States including over 400 performances of Showboat with national touring companies. Her jazz stylings have come of age and her enthusiasm will infect the most somber of jazz officianados.
