Six Dance Episodes (EP) is the second release on Azure Hills Music by pianist, composer, and improviser, Arthur Dobrucki.
"Three Dances" carry forward the classical piano dance style with a mix of traditional and contemporary dance rhythms. These works are inspired by piano artists Frederic Chopin and Keith Jarrett.
The "Nude Waltz" echoes traditional piano waltzes that engage the listener. The sparse and naked harmonic structure inspire the moniker for this piece.
"Rond de Jambe" is written with the ballet movement of the same name in mind. Rond de Jambe calls for graceful circular leg motions by the dancer, movements which can be set to this piano music.
The final work, "The One Ballet" was conceived for a solo dance. It is also characteristic of traditional classical piano music while maintaining contemporary accessible stylings.
The music of Arthur Dobrucki is featured on Whisperings Solo Piano Radio.
Also available by Arthur Dobrucki is the solo piano recording "The Darkness and The Light.”
