The DOC Band is a dynamic group of professional musicians who came together through Catching Life Christian Church in Chicago and who seamlessly mix gospel, rock, and jazz to create a high energy performance. While carrying out their careers in Music, these musicians had agreed to help form a band for the weekly worship services of this progressive church which uses the contemporary Rock, Gospel and Jazz Fusion sounds to form a spirited atmosphere. The DOC Band is committed to living lives of extravagant worship while they bring others into the presence of God.
Drawing on Chicago's best, this music was made to worship God and to support the work that He is doing here on earth. Who Am I? (track #5) received an honorable mention in the 2004 International Christian Songwriting Contest! Lead by Matt Ross, all of the songs are original and communicate an honest approach to worshiping God. Matt, a professional guitarist and singer/songwriter in Chicago, is the Music Director at Catching Life and has spent many years developing his craft. A jazz studies major from DePaul University, Matt has recorded for and played in all kinds of different bands that have influenced a unique musical approach to his worship.
Bassist Chris Clemente humbly took the time to produce, record, mix, sing, and play on the new cd. Chirs is an accomplished musician who has established himself as a dominant figure in the music scene for decades. Many others have contributed to the creation of this album, and it is nothing short of a miracle. Maturing in Christ and following where He leads has proven to be an incredible ride.
