Utilizing lyrics that make country real and flavoring those words with musicianship and natural charisma, Doc is getting back to the foundation of country music. Raised in El Dorado (Arkansas, that is), Doc's musical career began at the age of 13 with an avid interest in the guitar. Soon, he was playing and singing with an area band and attracting attention with his own tunes. He continually worked on his music until he completed high school at 18 and enlisted in the Army. After his years in the service, he came home ready to fine-tune his musical skills and pursue his dream of entertaining people all over the world.

Now based in Springfield, MO, Doc's performances are both looked forward to and remembered events. His upbeat, magnetic stage presence holds his audiences in his grip from the first song to the last encore. Off stage, with his quick wit and irresistible charm, Doc captivates his fans and makes them his friends.

Presently, Doc is spending time between Springfield and Nashville, honing his craft while working on his next album. With a voice that beckons, songs that inspire, and a presence that is unforgettable, Doc Bates is a discovery waiting to happen.
