Doc James grew up in a little town called Yukon. The little Oklahoma City suburb’s claim to fame is written high on the water tower, “HOME OF GARTH BROOKS”. Driving fast down old dirt roads in high school blasting the Eagles or Hank Williams Jr. and trying to get a kiss from the girl sitting next to him pretty much sums up his youth. A tried and true Boomer Sooner the Oklahoma University fanatic can often be found yelling at the games. Patriotic to the core he wrote “I Love the USA” a few years before 911 and made this his first recording. His influences stretch from Garth Brooks and Jimmy Buffet to Jim Croce and James Taylor. He sang the love song “Angel” to his wife to be at their rehearsal dinner, leaving no dry eye’s in the house. Singing party songs that people can drink beer to and shout makes Doc James grin wide. The road takes it’s toll and his songs “Rainy Days” and "Another Way" identify just how important the thought of a loved one can be when your down and lonely. In this fast moving world singing songs about country, love, and cold beer poolside is just the right speed. The title of his album “Poolside Temptations” is a tribute to the fun way Doc loves and lives his life.
Thanks for checking him out, don't be surprised if you get hooked just remember you stuck your "Finger In The Cage"!
