Album Notes

Erica Neely was introduced to filk in 1995, while a math student at Oxford University. Now a philosophy professor at the University of Illinois, her interests and inspirations run from hard science ("Star Song", her dirge for the American space program) to whimsy ("Christopher Robin") to great literature ("Lenny", based on "Of Mice And Men") to the elemental conundrum of life: will I act with honor when facing mortal challenges? Notwithstanding the serious - at times morose - tone of much of her work, Erica is quite capable of parody, especially of herself ("Not Everybody Dies").
