Album Notes

This five-piece Danish alternative indie rock group released the EP: “In the unlikely event of loss in cabin pressure” in May 2004. It quickly won interest in the Danish music underground and was supported by several excellent reviews in the media. Doí was signed to the Danish indie label Quartermain Records in August 2005 and is to release their debut album Sing the boy electric on October 2nd 2006.
The quintet plays atmospheric and down toned guitar based pop/rock inspired by the Nordic, thoughtful universe. With a blend of Scandinavian and American noise rock effects and shoegazer landscapes Doí captivates musically.
In 2006 Doí attended both the SPOT festival and Danish national radio’s P3 ‘Radiohuset Rocker´, which is considered the two foremost platforms to highlight new Danish talents. In connection to this Doí was named as one of the most talented and remarkable artists in Denmark right now.
Furthermore the band has appeared in NY Magazine ‘Nylon’, and featured in the British ‘Another Magazine’ alongside the Raveonettes, Von Bondies, the Beatings and the Kills.
The debut album “Sing the boy electric” sums up everything Doí represents:
The diversity between the raw, intense live energy, and the soft, airy and beautiful passages that creates a dynamic and thoughtful escape.

This artist sounds a lot like 'Sigur Ros'. With their very unique sounds and beat styles, you can never go wrong. Their music takes you on a journey never traveled by any other other artist! Introduce 'Sigur Ros' to 'The Verve' and their child is 'Doi'. So beautiful!
