Album Notes

The Web Digest Weekly at www.webdigestweekly.com writes:

Dom Bianco is not a new name in rock and roll. He's been recording and amassing a loyal fan base for many years now. His CD Fool For Tryin' is one of the stars in his crown. This collection of twelve riveting tracks is hard to not listen to again and again. From blistering vocals and arrangements on River Of Rain, to easier tunes like Little Girl Survived, to the album's exciting title track, this CD is a winner all around. Stars aren't just created by record companies anymore. Stars create themselves and mold their own futures and destinies in the digital age. Dom Bianco has achieved a mastery that many of his peers would love to call their own. His library is growing and he's enjoying every minute of it. The ride he takes his listeners on is a grand adventure that never disappoints. Artists like Dom are a testament to what talent, determination and drive can accomplish. Fool For Tryin' is a small masterpiece.

Dom writes: As an independent artist I have continued to produce music at my own expense. All throughout my career limited resources had always plagued the production of my music.

Although these lack of resources may have dampened the quality of older songs it could never penetrate my spirit or muddy the creation of these songs. It was never about competition of other artists or to achive a record label contract or airplay. It has always been for what I believe is the reason for my very existence, here on this earth to accomplish. Although I have questioned God's motives of either being "blessed or cursed", it was never my place to figure out his plan, so I just continue with my life creating and writing. This being my 10th compact disc, I have come to the conclusion that although record companies may or may not sign me to a record deal, in some small way I still feel a sense of acomplishment and deep in my heart I have fulfilled my childhood dream.

Although I beleive my 15 minutes of fame and fortune may have passed me by many years ago, I still try my damndest to write the best possible songs I am capable of.

I have never been blessed with tons of money, in fact, like most adolescent people, I had dreams of grandeur that left me no choice but to join the ranks of society for the resources I needed to fulfill that destiny. I have my doubts when people say, never to give up your dream, because if you continue to press toward your goals, they will in fact be fulfilled. Usually you hear that coming out of the mouths of the people who received a Grammy or an Oscar. There are a small percentage of people who will make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or into the Baseball Hall of Fame or to even make it to the big leagues “just to sit on the bench”. I guess I am just not one of them, but that's ok.

I would like to say that the love I have for the production of my music over the last 30 years has been unending and a real challenge, the toughest part was getting published, which to this day remains a mystery to me. It has been most exhilarating and fun to produce “Fool For Tryin’”. Although it may never be considered mainstream rock, I think you will find it has it’s merits. One record company has opted to re-record “Little Girl Survived” and they will re-produce that song (their way). In April 2008 it will be released. Ten thousand copies will be produced and distributed throughout these United States. Can you blame such a “Fool For Tryin’”? After my last release of “Flies Like The Wind” in 2005, it has been two years in the making. Special care in the recording and quality was a main concern for me in the digital age of computers, where today everybody’s brother, sister, mother, father, cousin, uncle and grand children are “Rock Stars” (and computer geniuses too!). It has been my hope that experience and dedication would be the key to winning the acceptance of the public arena. There is so much of everything out there today that it has grown even more difficult to make a statement. Rarely does anyone care anymore; people have become so complacent. The inspiration for the tenth song entitled Bang Bang (The Way It Always Goes)is from all those people who don't look at the details or the complexity of the work put in toward a means-to-the-end result. Some people will only listen to 4 bars of a song and deem it unfit for human consumption! It’s a complex society and I will never claim to understand it, and neither will you. So sit back, relax and spin the compact disc in or on whatever device you choose to use whether it be your cd/mp3/ipod/phone etc. Love it, like it or hate it, Fool For Tryin’ is done.

River Of Rain was written and dedicated to my son Robert Louis. There are special thanks to Ed Unitsky, who was so kind to take the time and effort to adorn this compact disc with his artwork. You can find Ed’s artwork all over the Internet and in galleries across the universe. His unique style is easy to pick out if you are familiar with any of his art. I recommend going to his personal website or his myspace account at http://www.edunitsky.com or http://www.myspace.com/progsky. If anything the price of the compact disc alone is worth the artwork Ed has created. Of course I would hope that the music will please you as much as his artwork pleases me. Thanks again for all your support.
