Album Notes

Donald Braswell is a professional operatic tenor trained at the renowned Juilliard School in New York. His musical career has taken him all over the world and includes performances with the Opera Orchestra of New York, the Spoleto Festival in Italy, the Bregenzer Festspiele in Austria, and the Oper Stadt Koln in Germany. During a series of performances in 1995 with the Welsh National Opera, Donald was struck by a car while cycling through Wales. He suffered severe damage to the soft tissue in his throat and was told by doctors that he might not be able to sing or speak normally again. Donald was determined to beat the odds and spent the next few years working to regain the normal use of his voice. With a great deal of faith, determination, and hard work, Donald began making his way back to the performance stage. For the past couple of years, he has performed at a few select events in the San Antonio area.

I had the honor of being in Brea, CA where Donald was performing, last week-end, and also belong to his fan club! He is an amazing artist, amazing man, and I want to have more CD's from him. I have New Chapter and have almost worn it out. Join our fan club and help us cheer this wonderful talent on! I love your singing... I would love to see an album of just opera come out... Like another commentor, I like musical genres separated... but I understand this is a debut album and there's a little bit of both popular & classical... I also would love to hear a Christmas album...I listened to the excerpt of Pecche and think its marvelous, so I'll be keeping my eye open for a classical album! I loved Luciano Pavarotti and if one of his fans says you're good... you're good! Best wishes!

It is on my wish list, I am old enough to be Donald's mother, but he gives me goosey bumps listening to him. I would hope he will come out with a video (so we can feast our eyes on him) and a CD of the songs he sang on AGT.
