Album Notes

the don brewer blues project is an all original blues band from the northeast usa. we incorporate both west coast blues and chicago styles into our original sound. the end result is a kind of gritty, swinging, juke joint high energy blues music.
we have been compared to albert king, stevie ray, clarence gatemouth brown and john lee hooker.
the debut album "voodoo soul blues" was recorded live, straight up and raw with all of the "nasty bits" left in.
you can swing to it, groove to it, dance to it, shake your bones to it and even listen to it.

Love the classic 'call-and response' juke joint rave-ups; and the strong harp playing augments Brewer's smoking, no-bull geetar wrangling nicely....the rock solid rhythm section holds it all together right tight and more. One of the best and most exciting blues disks I've heard in a long time.

Liked the high energy sound on the CD. The smoke that came out of the player when this CD was on was a bonus. Yeah, sounded like Stevie Ray, but I got a George Thorogood feel too. This is something that BB King said - all it takes is three chords, but HOW you play them makes it special. This CD falls in the special category.

If you like guitar solos with that retro feel, and I do, then this is one for the playlist.
