Album Notes

Marsh Dondurma is a 16 member brass band playing traditional ethnic music from around the world with their own original tunes, expanding these influences towards Jazz and Funk. On stage or on the street, Marsh Dondurma delivers its unique combination of original compositions and ethno music with great passion, energy and joy. The band played at the notorious Guca Trumpet Festival in Serbia (2006), The Montreal Jazz Festival (2007), and played at venues in New York and Croatia. It is a very active group in the Israeli music scene and played, among other numerous places, at the Israel Festival, the Tel-Aviv Jazz Festival, the Akko International Theater Festival, the Bat-Yam Street Art Festival, the Shuni Jazz Festival and various music clubs around the country.

"… Only one band in Israel looks and sounds like that: Marsh Dondurma.
In these past three years, Marsh Dondurma has lost none of its exciting dynamics and bursting energy and on the stage of "Levontin 7" [Tel Aviv] it proved that there is no conflict between these qualities and qualities such as clever compositions and complex arrangements… the groove draws the body into the music and the sophistication keeps the ear fascinated throughout the entire piece."
Haaretz, 30/9/07

"New Flavors" (Te'amim Hadashim), Dondurma's second studio album, makes way for exploration of new musical ideas and old traditions.

"…When they lock onto a groove the outcome is irresistible"
