Don Juan Dracula was declared the electronic rescuers when the band released its EP perfect Girl in 2002. That EP was simply recorded in the bedroom of vocal and song writer Henrik Lysell assisted by Henning Krane. With an 8 track recorder and an old Casio synthesizer, the ground work was laid down even though the guys where dreaming of having their own rehearsal space and a complete band. They where definitely going to do something about that.
After some good convincing, Don Juan Dracula was joined by and old friend Ola Eriksen who had never touched a bass guitar in his life. It just happened that this boy had a talent out of the ordinary. He got away from his guitar riffin’ past and fit right into the role. Now they just had to capture a drummer from somewhere. A skunk drunk Mr. Tomas Lute was the solution to that problem. The boys literally stumbled over Thomas at Elvis Pub in the beautiful city of Oslo. In that moment of deliria they inaugurated Thomas without having heard him kick a single beat (drunken fools). A guy who has the bodyweight of a sardin with the an alchohol consumption that could make Keith Richards look like a prohibitionist in the bibel belt of the 1930s just had to be a good drummer. This happened to be quite true.
In a rehearsal space smack of the red district of Oslo the band started to take shape. Like all beginnings it was definitely a bumpy one. Most of their equipment was stolen after a burglary, a fire destroyed their drums and P.A., and some prostitute client spray painted Thomas Lute’s car. The choice of rehearsing space was unfortunate, but they did not give up.
After a lot of sweat and tears they have settled into a new rehearsing location at the old building of the Ringnes Breweries which has given the band new hope. The new EP Happy Boy is out now and summer is finally here. There will be festival gigs coming up, a tour in the fall and a complete album will be recorded during summer. Somebody has wondered whether Don Juan Dracula is trying to set national record in releasing Eps but that is not the case. With an album coming the triology will be complete and Don Juan Dracula’s sly plan is complete. In the middle of all this chaos there is actually a story these guys are trying to tell.

This album reminds me of 80's music. It is also sort of European sounding. I love it!!! I got my CD from CDBaby quickly and in perfect condition. I will order again.
