Spokane's own acoustic guitar wizard Don Kush creates an astonishing, unique form of instrumental music that is deceptively straightforward and pleasing to the ear, yet at the same time extremely complex. His years of passionate dedication to his craft come incredibly alive when he performs, leaving his audiences transported by the music and the spirit that pulses through. Don's sound is perhaps best compared to that of the late acoustic guitar legend Michael Hedges, however he has a voice that is clearly all his own.
"It is quite a challenge to try and convey the ideas that are in my mind while writing my music. What I hope to create for people is an experience that will be both memorable and inspiring." To accomplish this Don uses a variety of unconventional fingerstyle techniques, tunings and instruments such as his custom eleven-string harp guitar.
Don is one of the few guitar players who are not only capable of making it sound as if there is more than one guitar being played... indeed a listener may well question whether it is even a guitar that they are hearing at all, as the beautiful, lush soundscapes that Kush produces are so fresh sounding.
Don performs regularly at a variety of Acoustic Venues in the Spokane area and has participated in both the 2001 and 2002 "Coffeehouse Creatures" events showcasing local musicians at The Met.

One of my favorite fingerstyle albums...
author: Jonathan Nicholson
This album is a perfect example of how diverse and expressive Don's compositions are. His technical wizardry is outmatched only by his incredible songwriting ability... Every song on this cd is filled with beautiful layer upon layer of emotional depth and subtlety, and I easily rank this collection up there with many of the fingerstyle greats. A definite must have for guitar lovers, and music fans in general.
Absolutely fantastic...
