Album Notes

This recording includes 10 original songs as well as covers by Chicago artists Mark Dvorak, Chris Farrell and Tom Dundee, and one song by Emmylou Harris. Mark Dvorak and Buddy Mondlock make guest vocal appearances. Recorded in Nashville over several months, Donna combines Chicago influenced folk music (Steve Goodman & Tom Dundee) with vocals influenced by Joni Mitchell and Linda Ronstadt and the stellar playing of Nashville musicians. The tone is reflective and the songs tell of real people that appear to be out of storybooks. Seeing Eye Doll is a memory of two real people from Donna's hometown of Park Forest, IL. Visions of Pontito retells the story of a man who becomes ill and has visions of his former hometown destroyed in the war, and paints his visions. Wild Eyed Lady was a real homeless woman living in Chicago who appeared on the Oprah show shortly before she died.
