Album Notes

DonnaLynn is Donna Lynn Davis with her husband Terry. They love to share music, so they’re often joined by friends, both in performing and recording. In the sixties, a young Donna Lynn sang and played on the Main Street stage at the Pendleton Round-Up. In the seventies she played for on behalf of the families of Walla Walla State Penitentiary prisoners as part of a YWCA outreach program. The eighties and early nineties found her helping to manage hotels and resorts, but her guitar and notepad were never far away. In 1995 she left hotel management. She wasn’t sure where her road would take her, but she knew music was going to be a big part of it. You might even feel yourself emotionally drawn to Juanita, Frank (or is it Valentino?), or Michael Starr. Relax and watch the ocean from

HeavenTown
author: Jay Howlett
I first met DonnaLynn at the Sisters Folk Festival in 1998. Yes that’s 10 years ago, just after the late Jurassic period; she was on stage with her husband Terry Davis. Her beautiful voice and sweet poignant songs first got my attention then overwhelmed me. Donna's first CD "Road to Follow" was a fine example of her abilities as a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. “Heaven Town” builds exponentially on her earlier works and she is an artist in full bloom. With its largely original compositions Heaven Town also includes a cover of both a Dave Carter song and one by Gail Swanson. Combining this with some great guest artists including Tracy Grammer Heaven Town is heaven to listen to, not assaulting the senses but enticing them to listen a little more with each song, each play. I highly recommend this CD. Jay Howlett The Friday Folk Off w Dave Stafford, Fridays 3:00PM to 6:00PM KKUP 91.5 FM, Cupertino / Santa Clara, California
