About the Music on "Somewhere in the Silence"
How it was created:
What you are hearing in one uninterrupted, live studio piano performance. This one-of-a-kind recording was done as a single, inspired piece of original music, played spontaneously from start to finish, direct to stereo master mix. There were no overdubs or changes and there was no pre-planned music. I simply "showed up" and allowed the music to flow and do not remember playing (or even what I played)--only that something was asking to be expressed.
That afternoon...
I sat down at a nine-foot concert grand piano in the shadowed stillness of the studio with only silence, two candles glowing in the half light, and something much, much greater than I. For nearly seventy minutes I played, surrendering to the music that came through me, from me, at that single moment of creation.
In the absolute quietness, I remembered what it was like-
To ask, to listen, and to hear the whisper-somewhere in the silence.
How it can be used:
There are no individual titles here, for there are no individual tunes---this is one singular piece of music that can never be recreated again. These selections are musical, but they are not "melodic"--that is, there is no actual melody to "distract" the listener from hearing one's own inner voice. For this reason, this continually flowing music is ideal for meditation, massage and the healing arts as well as for reflection, renewal and creativity. ID points are given should you wish to reference particular segments of this performance. I chose not to offer titles--that way, you are free to create your own personal interpretation.

Donna also has music for creativity, contemplation and celebration. "This Feels Like Heaven" is a collection of fourteen original piano compositions that immerse you in a world of grace, elegance and quiet passion. She collaborated with hammered dulcimer artist Lee Spears to produce "The Brighter Side of Night," a recording that "traces the symbolic coming of night--with its mystery, magic, enchantment, solitude and serenity--to the first light of dawn's new awakening of hope for a brighter tomorrow." The two artists also produced a collection of unique "instrumental impressions for Christmas and the winter season" ("Winterfall").
