oakland based donna smith brings delta blues influenced vocals to a groove based jazz collective effort. For this record she has made up some words to jazz tunes and added afrocuban percussion and then lay it all down over a drum and bass groove. the junkmen are trinidad born R and b drummer dave john, hipster hero bass player bill liles, boise keyboard player mike rosenthal and oakland based cuban born percussionist jesus diaz.
