ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
There are times when this does not sound like a re-creation
but the powerful Stan Kenton Orchestra come alive!
Jack Bowers "All About Jazz"
"....with an exciting logic, Scaletta's use of sidemen with prodigious improvisational talents is indicative of the utter acceptance this disc deserves...";George Carroll,
The Musicians Ombudsman-"ejazznews"

Don Scaletta, a nationally known pianist and arranger pays tribute to the music of Stan Kenton, both in concert and recordings.
Two of Don's trio albums,"Any Time...Any Groove" and "Sunday Afternoon at the Trident" were spotlighted for jazz in Billboard and Cash Box magazines.
Always an admirer of the Kenton band, Don's interest in Stan's nusic was rekindled by Lee Gillette, a long time producer of Stan Kenton at Capitol. Gillette also produced Don's trio albums at Capitol Records.
