Album Notes
Hailing from the sun-drenched island of Puerto Rico, Don Segundo has been cooking up the vintage sounds of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae to music lovers since 2006. From its Caribbean standpoint, Don Segundo aims to create a musical bridge between Jamaica and the multi-cultural, cosmopolitan milieu of its native San Juan.

Don Segundo\'s first full-length album Censura features the band’s careful blend of high-energy horn riffs with the jazzy stylings and soulful lyrics of sixties-era records. It includes some scorching, danceable instrumentals, as well as modern musings on interpersonal relationships, consumerist culture, and the unexpected twists of everyday life; all from a female perspective.

I've liked Don Segundo ever since hearing them on World Ska Radio and Pressure Drop podcasts. "Start Stompin'" was the track that turned me into a fan and the rest of the album won't disappoint. Even better - the MP3 format means you won't have to wait for the CD to arrive!
