A World Beat Soul Project. A blackboard jungle; a martini with as many olives as you can spare; a knuckle sandwich. Vocals like a brim low over one eye. Soul like an electric eel skin suit. These are vignettes to groove and kiss and cry to.

Dorian Holley is new to the solo scene. Perhaps because he has spent most of his time backing folks up. The vocal coach on American Idol the last four seasons, he also sings on Don’t Forget The Lyrics, and was a featured vocalist on Dancing With The Stars for its first three seasons. Listen closely and you can pick his voice out on the film Happy Feet. Then go dig up a copy of cult fav, The Five Heartbeats. Dorian is the voice of Choir Boy, which is kind of funny because when he was a kid he WAS one in the world renowned Bob Mitchell Singing Boys Choir. Since then Dorian has done all of Michael Jackson’s solo tours; toured with Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, James Taylor, Lionel Richie, Don Henley, Linda Rondstadt; sung with Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Usher, Cristina Aguilera, Fantasia, Stevie Nicks, Patti Labelle, Chris Brown, Jon Legend, Chris Daughtry, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Joss Stone, Seal, Chrisette Michele, aw man, the list goes on and on. When you can’t sleep late one night, Google him. That’ll do it.
But you won’t sleep on his music. It’s a World Beat Soul Project. Complimented with the killer poetry of Dorian’s unique take on love, life, holding hands and, of all things, Bar B Q joints.
Dude. This one’s gonna stay on REPEAT. Betchu a hundred bucks. And I’ll double that if you don’t have a laugh or two on the way.

C'est magnifique!
author: Olivier Huguenot
I have knowing Dorian for 21 years now discovering him during Bad World Tour in 1988.
It's the 1st time I hear him singing alone. And what a big surprise it is! I'm amazed to discover the large amplitude of his voice which can cover so different styles of music, so different styles of songs.
I love the spirituality of his songs which all are different but that put all in the focus his beautiful talent and voice.
I recommend this CD for the ones who love beautiful heart and spirit! An excellent present for everyone for Christmas!
