by Dorsal Atlântica & Metalmorphose

Pioneering Brazilian Heavy Metal album from 1984. It was the second or third Metal album from a Brazilian band ever. It is raw as produced by 16 year old kids, but it shows young and courageous bands ahead of their time.

Album Notes
"I was surprised by a call from Metalmorphose bass player André Bighinzoli in 2008, with the idea of rereleasing Ultimatum, one of the first Metal albums recorded in Brazil. The old friend I haven't seen in 2 decades asked me to manage the project preserving the original art concept. The 8-track recording from 1984 was remastered in September 2008 by the audio master Leon Manssur, and the art redone preserving the handwritten text, like in the original. To rework these photos made me think about all these years of battle, highs and lows. The purity of these photos breath out the hope we had in 'our future', without any foretold 'catastrophe'. This courageous work shows that both bands were born not to copy, but to build the genuine brazilian Heavy sound: our Ultimatum, shouting out loud to Brazil and the world. As said in the insert, 'we and other bands helped to sow a seed in this country that will flourish naturally if allowed to.' Well, the seeds have flourished and developed. We dreamed that our 'Heavy Metal' would be an eternal 'Immortal Desire'. And here's the proof, one quarter of a century later. " Carlos Lopes September 2008
