Dot Dot Dash is a quartet of fiddle, mandolin, guitar and bass hailing from Virginia and North Carolina. They are primarily a contra dance band, playing in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee regularly throughout the year. 'Dot Dot Dash 2' is their second album, following up their 2005 self-titled debut.

The band performs a variety of musical styles such as celtic dance, appalachian string band, gypsy jazz, and various world musics. In the live setting, the band plays a combination of original music and traditional dance tunes. Their recordings reflect this stylistic approach.
