Doug Hammond is best known for his LP/CD "SPACES" on IDIBIB/DIW labels that featured Steve Coleman and Muneer Abdul Fataah, Byard Lancaster and Kirk Lightsey; as drummer-singer-composer on "Reflections in the Sea of Nurnen" (Tribe/Soul Jazz labels) featuring David Durrah and Charles Burnham-special song "Wake Up Brothers"; "Folks" (Idibib label) featuring and introducing Angela Bofill; and now the new solo release, "The Real Deal" 2007 on Heavenly Sweetness label featuring Kirk Lightsey; and as guest vocalist/composer on Jazzanova's release, "In Between"; "Singing Smiles" (Idibib) featuring the fabulous and swinging trumpeter who never forgets the blues, Dwight Adams; a 1989 release "Mo' Folks" featuring Regina Carter and Wendell Harrison
