Album Notes

Songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist based in Sacramento, California. A world traveler, Michael Doughton has been playing music since he was a small child, many years ago. He likes pizza, beer and chateaubriand, and is a vegetarian. But I digress. His musical influences are almost infinite, and include (to name just a few) Les Paul, Craig Chaquico, Mark Knopfler, John Scofield, Bill Nelson, Alan Parsons, Mickey Hart, Beatles, Bert Jansch, Ottmar Liebert, Deathray, Stevie Ray, Erasure, Miles, Sourdough Slim, Bonzo Dog, Hendrix, Elton, Enigma, Enya, Zappa, new age, celtic, trance, and world music.

A review of "Translingo" by the Davis Enterprise newspaper:

"This is a really nice blend of eclectic new age and jazz, smartly arranged and well mixed. His 'hatha heartbeat' was choreographed and performed last May by our Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre, and his keyboard prowess happily highlights most of the 13 tracks. The disc can be found in town . . . and makes for very upbeat listening."
