Album Notes

Doug Krause is a traditionally trained composer as well as an experienced performer and writer in many styles of popular music. He is equally at home writing pop songs as composing film music in the classical orchestral style or contemporary art music for acoustic instruments or electronics. His piano style is a blend of blues, honky-tonk, and jazz which is reflected in much of his songwriting, and he is recognized for his unique vocal style which exhibits characteristics of rock and country with the ever present influence of blues. Besides performing in the Colorado region, he is also an instructor of music, songwriting, and music business at the University of Colorado at Denver and coordinator of online course development for the College of Arts and Media at the university.
