Matt Douglass is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Maryland. The songs featured here offer up distinctive lyrics and vocals with afirst rate band assembled for this release. Playing lead guitar/mandolin with past bands from country to roots rock and soul, Douglass displays some of those influences on his debut CD, No Stone Unturned. Composed in Dallas, TX and recorded in Baltimore MD, No Stone Unturned has garnered Honorable Mention for Best Album in the Mid-Atlantic Music Monthly Readers Poll. Douglass also picked up an Honorable Mention for Best Songwriter.
Douglass' beginnings were with a touring rock/country band in the early 80's, focusing on the musical style of Gram Parsons/EmmyLou Harris/Rodney Crowell , and sharing the stage w/Vassar Clements, Pure Prairie League, Michael Murphey, and Commander Cody. After that were stints in everything from a British Invasion rock band, to a reggae rock band to an American rock n' soul band, before deciding to go on his own. He's emerged with songs that have depth and Americana-style melodies.
The band:
Matt Douglass - Guitar(Lead/Slide), Mandolin, Vocals
Jim Seechuk - Guitar(Lead), Harmonica, Vocals
Neil Friesner - Bass, Vocals
Steve Raskin - Drums

The three songs I especially liked--"Picture," "Wish That You Had Not" and "Girl Who Believes"--marry catchy guitar riffs to lyrics with enough detail and enough irony to make me believe.
