Enveloping Compositions Explored by Legendary Musicians
Doug Lunn may be primarly known as a top notch session musician but this outstanding recording documents his abilities as a composer as well. This album features exquisite playing by musicians such as Mike Keneally, Vinnie Colaiuta, Peter Maunu, Dimitris Mahlis, George Nernardo but the focus is on the compositions not the soloing. The music is not easily describable with text but deserves wider recognition.

Enveloping Compositions Performed by Legendary Musicians
Doug Lunn whose mostly recognized for his session work as a multi instrumentalist is an equally capable composer whose work shines brightly on "Doug Lunn Project" What's refreshing is although the album features incredible players such as Vinnie Colaiuta and Mike Keneally, the focus is on the compositions . I found myself putting this one repeat allowing myself to get immersed into Doug Lunn's compositional world.

Enveloping Compositions Supported by Colaiuta, Maunu, Kenealy, Mahlis, Bernardo,
Doug Lunn is better known as a session musician than as a composer. I found myself getting immersed into Doug Lunn's compositional world with repeated listenings. It's all about the pieces and beautifully supported by fantastic musicians. Forget labels and what you think you might know. I particularly enjoyed the use of marimba on several of the compositions. There's mystery in Doug Lunn's pieces which I find an attractive quality. I highly recommend Doug Lunn Project as it won't fit neatly into any particular category or label type
