Though this roots rock offering is a decidedly Christian disc the name of Jesus is mentioned but once and one is struck by how easily and profoundly the ideas expressed come across without it feeling preachy or filled with false piety. These are songs coming from a heart that understands both the theology and the emotional reality of a fallen world where grace, mercy and forgiveness groan to be expressed. It is obvious that there is more driving this energetic and varied collection of songs than the steady, funky rhythm section, crisp acoustic and ripping electric guitars, keys , musical saw and solid lead and backing vocals . These elements combine to ably present rock to rockabilly , funky ballads to touching pleas for action and testimonies of faith and redemption . These inspired and thoughtful compositions amuse, challenge and comfort. From the unique album design to the unusual take on life that is expressed this work is infused with a fun and quirky enthusiasm for something different than what this world is offering.

WHEN MONEY FAILED was recorded on one inch tape in a total analog setting in the old school fashion at “OLD SKOOL STUDIOS” in China, Maine. It Makes one realize why the “good old days” albums sounded so darn good .
The band is the core of Nye's former band "press'n on" consisting of Daren Blomerth on keys and Vince Bryant on drums. Additional muscians contributing are Ezra Rugg and Bernie Nye on bass, Gary Clancy and Bernie Nye on Guitars, Mark Kerns on saw, with background vocals provided by Daren Blomerth, Siri Soucy of "Tree by leaf" and J.B. Lawrence.
