Album Notes

In 2005, Bay Area denizens Brian Anderson (guitar), John Meyer (bass), and Mike "Tooch" Tuciarone (drums) needed a distraction from their desk jobs, coffee, and commutes. Drawing from each other's music collections and quirky observation, Down Cows emerged.

"Moo. Thud.," their debut EP, is a three-song collection of pop gems introducing the listener to the retro-pop trio's self-described "Rich Dairy Sound." Drawing from the readily familiar (shades of Warren Zevon, Jonathan Richman, Barenaked Ladies, and Fountains of Wayne abound), Down Cows creates retro-tinged chorus-and-verse stories of eccentric acquaintances, collegiate dalliances, and sexual discovery.
