Newfoundland Favourites Vol. 3 features selections that cover a broad range of artists and songs that say much about Newfoundland and our way of life, both past and present. This volume features some of the newer artists in the province today.
The Mercers give us a rendition of “Saltwater Joys”, The Sharecroppers sing an original song that paints a vivid picture of small town life and being educated in a “One Room School”. The Government Rams have brought back the song that for a long time was the signature song of Joan Morrissey, “Thank God We’re Surrounded By Water”. Ray Lake sings of visiting home and “Waltzing With Rita”, his mother. For anyone that has visited Newfoundland or is from Newfoundland, you surely have memories of the music you heard when you were here.
The Downhomer is an institution that is recognized by Newfoundlanders at home and away. It has long served the appetite of Newfoundlanders to connect with the home province.
