The third release from Seattle's Downpilot, again produced by Tucker Martine (Long Winters, Decemberists, Laura Veirs, Jesse Sykes), is an aural scrapbook of the backroads of memory: long nights listening to trains, sleeping on the freeway, madness on a snowy mountainside. Roslyn Recordings 2006 (US), Tapete Records (EU). ROLLING STONE ::: Downpilot's debut album LEAVING NOT ARRIVING may have been praised mainly in americana circles, but Paul Hiraga's roots actually lie completly elsewhere.
