Album Notes

I've been locked down in the analog bunker for the past couple of years, knitting together all the wires and glowy tubes, humming new tunes all the way. It may take us a bit longer, but we like the journey.

So the new baby is born. They Kind of Shine. Ten tunes in perhaps more of an acoustically driven pop vein, the skies part a little and some sun is putting it all in a sweeter light. I felt the harmonies of Garfunkel, the intimacy of Drake, the solitary drive of McCartney (on his first solo outings) so I just went with it and played as much as I could stand to hear back without feeling TOO self-indulgent. Jeff had to sing support, that much is always clear. We did convene the trio (with Mister Musburger on drums) for one session, and we got some rock. Maggie dropped out of the sky and played heavenly steel like she had known the songs all along. It was all very spur of the moment after too much deliberating. That's my way. -Paul
