Over the last year, six inmates in the Montana State Prison system have been hard at work writing and composing a 14-song CD to try to get the public to better understand the life and perspective of an individual inside the ever-growing prison sytem. Through all the obstacles they inevitably faced, these men have put together a CD/DVD Combo released music video from inside prison.
In this video, you will see the inside of the cell block where they live, hallways, and band room while the members of Down Time play the song Concrete Boxes, from the album Behind Locked Doors.
Also, included in the DVD are interviews with the band members and a jam session in which they play two additional songs from the album, Statistics and Get It On.
If you've ever wondered what an inmate thinks about, everything from his first bus ride to growing old in prison than you would definitely gain from listening to the laid-back music of Down Time.
The members of Down Time put this package together for every prisoner, family member and friend that has been touched by the experience of incarceration.
Down Time wants to thank all their family and friends for their continued love and support despite the poor choices that they have made in the past.
We hope that these original songs/DVD reflect that the members of Down Time have shown tasteful creativity and a willingness to try and grow beyond these walls.
* "Although Down Time was able to make this CD/DVD, the Administration at Crossroads and MDOC do not promote or endorse it"

CUTS TO THE CHASE OF PRISON LIFE..."EDGY" BUT WITH A SENSE OF HOPE
author: Cry Justice NOW - prison newspaper
WOW...Tremoundous! I've never heard any lyrics like this that cut so close to home for anyone who's had the misfortune to be "inside" for any length of time. Yet there is a sense of hope that comes through and shows what six guys can do to turn things around and go from "bad boys" to doing a real good for the betterment of others. We all should follow their example.

Awesome music, great lyrics, and completely original!

I was on the inside with these guys and they are all my good friends. I had the pleasure of working with them on some of their project and even helped produce their music video. I'm not giving them a great review just because their my bro's, I actually listen to their music every day...And I love it. My favorite songs are 5150, Concrete Boxes, and Statistics. Look at the lyrics real close, it will take you on the inside.
