Album Notes

Listen to what this true street rapper has to say to the game and to society-at-large, as he keeps it real, DP Style.

DP hit the streets of the L.A. music scene from 2000-2004, culminating with performances on Hollywood's Sunset Strip. In 2005, DP tired of the music biz in L.A., and retired out of the game. But, his move back to L.A. in 2007, and a new burning flow, have birthed a new album in '08 - see Myspace.com/DPRap for his new single, sure to climb the charts. DP's next album will be more commercial, this cd was his message. Download now, bump it in your ride, have a drink, have a smoke, but listen closely. Peace, DP

**********************************************************

DP was raised in Texas, spent his college years in Hawaii, and moved to Los Angeles in 1999. His talent for rap was soon discovered by an infamous street producer in the world-famous "west coast rap headquarters" of Inglewood, CA. DP quickly became "the white rapper", cutting his chops in a garage in Inglewood with a rap group and on the streets of L.A. and the world-famous Sunset Strip. He was mentored by Professor Funk, a well-known beatmaker and producer/engineer and artist, who had been "at the game for 15 years". DP was convinced he had met "his Dr. Dre", as Eminem had just gotten hot with his music. After having some close calls with record execs, but never landing that sought after deal, DP set out with Professor Funk to form Wesside Cali Entertainment, a joint venture of his finance and marketing skills and rap talent, combined with his producing partner's musician skills and music industry knowledge. But struggle and deception in the rap game ensued, including DP being falsely accused and sent to LA County jail for accepting a bad check from a client. As his cd claims on one song, he will go to his grave NOT GUILTY, ironically the album title for this album when released under the Street Version, which was only available from DP directly, as he used to sell them for $7 with an autograph. Download your copy today and discover a story of courage, sacrifice, and a quest for belonging in a rap culture he knew nothing about growing up in the small town of Baytown, Texas, 20 miles from Houston. It's a long way from Baytown, TX to Hollywood, especially with five years in Hawaii!.

A unique brand of rapper who is still raw enough for the real game. DP - In The Game, Not of the Game, an album with a Hip Hop message for the ages.
