Album Notes

dp3 is an Atlanta-based quartet integrating the genres of jazz, art rock, and world music. Defined by its unique instrumentation (violin, trumpet, bass, drums), extensive use of electronic effects, and heady improvisations, the band puts its signature sound to 70's funk-inspired grooves, distortion laden adagios, Hindustani ragas, and introspective ballads. The result is a seamless movement of moods, textures, and genres anchored in equal parts by the band's melodic and experimental sensibilities.

Recently, they composed the soundtrack score to "The Life and Death of 9413, a Hollywood Extra", due to be re-released by Kino films this year.
