Album Notes

When you’re born to a musical family and raised on the plains of Oklahoma and Kansas, you’re sure to learn the importance of family, God, country, hard work and the power of country music.

Dave Parks grew up watching his part of the world spawn such legendary talents as Vince, Reba, Garth and Martina. When Parks made his way to Nashville, he knew that he too had something fresh to offer the country music world.

Parks’ independent label release “Livin’ an American Dream” is proof of that. It’s a collection of well crafted songs that presents a stirring portrait of a man working hard to achieve his dreams while never losing sight of the things in life that matter most. Dave cranks up the fun and energy level with a few dance hall country-rockers as well.

Along with great music this album includes 2 incredible videos. Livin' An American Dream and Deja vu Rain. After viewing the videos country star Craig Morgan enlisted the director of Parks' videos, Dallas Henry, to shoot Morgan's International Harvester video in Wichita, KS which is still doing great on GAC and CMT.

Dave spent some time on a movie set in 2007—shooting scenes for a film called “A Father’s Rights” for which he wrote and recorded the title theme song. The sound track is out and available at www.3jackent.com. Dave wrote and performed 2 of the songs in the movie also on the sound track along with a third song that is on the soundtrack.

Parks’ voice is notably more powerful than one is used to hearing in today’s country, and it’s a refreshing change.

“Total strangers come up and express kindness to me, almost love, on the basis of my singing and songwriting,” says Parks. “That just reinforces me. It tells me I'm doing my job…what I was born to do."
