DOPE PRODUCTION RECORDS was founded in 2000 by J. Peterson to showcase the highly talented cities of the Northwest, and at which time Tha Syndicate, a set of twins out of Tacoma Washington joined the label.

To gain the company some recognition, in n early 2000, "Grit & Grind" 19 track mix tape was released, followed shortly by "Caught Up" a 4 track maxi-single, was pushed to the streets in Northern California, Washington, Oregon, & Idaho with a small promotional tour, with features from Krypto, Death Squad, & By All Meanz, gained the company some credibility in the streets.

Then in 2003 SQ released a CD single titled "Individual Reality" which moved over 5200 units with that Out The Trunk Hustle throughout the Northwest along with some East Coast Contacts.

In 2006, SQ released another album titled "Life Of Scandal" with 16 tracks of Street Life, Real Game Influenced Content, has moved around 4700 units with that Sidewalk Hustle, Show Appearances, and local events.

Late 2006, while networking through various Internet sites, Tha Syndicate, contacted and collected music submissions from major divisions of Northwest Artist, and assembled "Northwest Explosion mix tape Vol. 1" with 22 tracks of the best Northwest hip hop with features from The Outlawz, The Youngbloodz, and Twista.
