A Dream Awaits means dreamy, melodic music that is keyboard based with some electric guitar as well. There are several A Dream Awaits CDs that are beautiful and atmospheric enough to be used for massage therapy, yoga, or other body works. However, Energy Vampires is a rhythmic wave of pent up emotion. It is not recommended for massage or bodywork because the songs are too dynamic to sit still.
This CD has been placed in the electronic/ambient category because it is mostly synthesizer. The core of each song is a dreamy, rhythmic, chordal track. But there's no telling where the song will go from there. The songs build as layers are added and usually end in a flurry of layered rhythms.
Nocturnal Awakening - layered synth with an urban drumbeat. The guitar at the end gives me shivers.
Bullet Train to Budapest - fast pace with a dreamy middle. Cool effects as well.
A Light Amongst the Shadows - starts out with a sharp edge then mellows a bit but with strong synth bass.
Energy Vampires - a bit of King Crimson influence here. Some interesting piano in the middle. Finishes with more lead guitar.
The Lamina Groove - up-tempo beat with ringing synth lead.
Some Other Time - Latin beat and spacey synth. Latin influenced guitar as well.
Run With It - more of a rocker that has a kind of downtown feel to it.
Redemption - New Order influence here. This song returns to the EV fast paced but dreamy sound.

I totally dig this CD! I keep it on in the background all the time at work. It's dreamy, interesting and unique. It's great for my massage practice, but I end up just listening to it all the time!
