Artist Description

Founded in 2000 as the solo project of DJ Dazed, D R E A M D A Z E uses laptops and a variety of software to fuse DJ Dazed's driving influences of Dada, Surrealism and William S. Burroughs into a musical equivalent - with bits and pieces of any given song pulled from a wide expanse of musical genres. D R E A M D A Z E specializes in ambient, down tempo and IDM.

'Atmosherocephalic' (down tempo, 5:14)
There's no real intro as such on this one, just straight in with light jumpy beats, smooth floating underwater styled fx and a deep sub bassline...very groovy with a definite non-aggressive feel to the whole track.

'Illumined Pleasures' (IDM, 3:12)
This jazzy, swinging free-form IDM song features quirky little blips and bleeps, a lightly funky deep bass and fusion-styled beats.

'Placid Abstraction' (ambient techno, 3:24)
A minimally funky intro slides into slow tempo floating pads and carries on in the same vein throughout.

This is Dreamdaze’s first EP and features three equally chilled-out and wacked-out electronic adventures. This Illinois native first picked up the Dreamdaze moniker in 2000 and hasn’t looked back, racking in the accolades including a Number One spot on MP3.com’s heralded ambient chart. The first tune “Atmospherocephalic” is a down-tempo number that was featured on the first volume of the Raw42 compilation “Global Chilled”. What’s most interesting is his incorporation of acid jazz textures with a backdrop of bleepy techno bytes and bits all enveloped into dynamic scratchy beats.

I hope you are ready for electronica, because that is what DJ Dazed is bringing to us on his silver plate. In DJ Dazed are mixes where you will find different genres as jazz, funk, techno, universal sounds with some beat and sometimes not even real start of the tune. His tunes not that they will make you wonder away from this reality they will also lift you higher and higher and not even for a second they will put you down. You will enjoy in light beats a bit jumping here and there, but each song will bring you something else.

‘ Atmosherocephalic’ is definitely one that has no real begging, you start with the light jumping beats and if you found many tunes with messages, this one has one. Relaxation. It will clear up your mind and thoughts. Will not put you to sleep, even that there is no aggression, but will make you fly in an empty space. Tune has definitely a groovy touch of space,

‘Placid Abstraction’ is much different tune. You can prepare yourself already from the title that you will have a great tour of abstract pictures, visualization that will not give you a guaranty that on the end you will have understandable picture in front of you. Listening this music of ambient techno will give you a funky presence in moments and you will end with surprise. You will become part of his abstraction.

‘Illumined Pleasures’ is again different from both music mixes that you read before. You will feel more beat and rhythm in it and is a little bit more aggressive than the other two, if we can talk about that anyhow… It is mix of jazz and funk, with universal beeps, and this song will give you an unbelievable pleasure, that will run through you as beeps that you are keep hearing. In many ways you will get the feeling to move around in a beat and dance. All that will give you extra ordinary pleasure and peace within.
