Album Notes

Recorded in April 2002 at the Apache Café in Midtown Atlanta, "Have Mic... Will Travel: The Live Experience" contains live renditions of songs from D.R.E.S.' first album, "Have Mic... Will Travel" as well as new material. Featured on the album are Atlanta favorites Chiedza, Slick & Rose, and DJ Rasta Root. Backing D.R.E.S. is Live Wax, his 4-piece band.

With a standing room only crowd in attendance, D.R.E.S. performed a blistering one hour and 40 minute set of his classic material and several exciting new joints. Accompanying D.R.E.S. on the song "Slow Motion" is neo-soul artist Chiedza, 2001 GMIA Songwriter of the Year, whose own album In The Red is garnering much critical and fan acclaim. Female duo Slick & Rose, whose fresh sound has been captivating audiences around Atlanta, provide sultry vocals on "Milk & Honey," another new track that had the crowd on its feet. "This album definitely provides a fresh perspective, and pushes the envelope even further to recognize hip-hop music as art," says D.R.E.S. tha Beatnik.

This project is D.R.E.S.' second release with 4 Kings Entertainment. His debut album "Have Mic... Will Travel," released in 2001, won critical acclaim as the first 100% human beatbox produced album in hip-hop history. A Philadelphia native, D.R.E.S. currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is an ambassador for positive movements in underground hip-hop music.
