Album Notes

A South African - born and bred. He has been living in the States since 1987.

A huge fan of live music, Drew sites James Brown, Phish, Van Morrison, Karl Denson, Medeski Martin and Wood, Hal Maynard, and most recently Martin Sexton as being moving and motivational experiences.

Local to Orange County, San Diego, LA, Santa Barbara venues.

He has had the privilege of working with gifted people over the past few years. In former projects, he was joined by Karl Denson (Tiny Universe & Lenny Kravitz), Cochemea Gastelum (Robert Walter's 20th Congress), Aaron Redfield (Dance Floor Prophets) and others. This latest self produced record (that was tracked in his walk-in closet) features local L.A. drummer, Scott Boureston, along with Nic Rodriguez, and A.J. deGrasse.

Drew empties himself into his lyrics, which range in mood from existential and philosophical to autobiographical and emotional. Stylistically, Drew melds his influences of soul, jazz, folk, and blues to make a menu sure to satisfy all.

Rolling Stone Magazine has yet to review this independent release. However, his mother has endorsed it as being some of the finest music she has ever heard.

See the Sun Again

This CD is amazing. The lyrics are deep and well written. I bought the CD at Drew Bray's concert in 2004 (at Rock Harbor). I was going through a really hard time spiritually. When I heard the song "see the sun again" I felt like those words could have poured out of my own heart. Drew's music is truly a blessing and is being used to draw people closer to Christ. Rock on:)
