A while back, Drew was approached with a fresh opportunity - to come up with original music for the stage adaptation of the best selling book by author, Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz. As he explored this new expression of writing some of his strongest work to date began to surface. This resulted in the the quick (literally over a weekend of recording) turnaround of his latest album, Swirling. The first five songs on the record have and will be featured in the world premier of the play, Blue Like Jazz. The remaining songs are mixtures of new and old songs, newly recorded by producer, Paul Dexter.
The Players on the record include: Scott Boureston (drums/percussion), Tom Pollard (bass), Dave Martyn (woodwinds), Paul Dexter (pads and mood), Molly Jenson (vocals).

There is not a single average song on here - everything is top notch. Lots of groovy, catch melodies, insightful lyrics, and don't overlook the beautiful background vocals by Molly Jenson. I've been a fan of Drew's for a few years now and he just keeps getting better.

This is an absolutely superb follow up to the original album. Drew is like a secret gem that has yet to be discovered by the general public. I had chills creeping up my spine numerous times while listening to this CD.
For those of you that are concerned with half the songs already being on the other album, dont worry. They are new renditions of those songs and really much better.
Seriously get this CD its great for any mood you are in!
