Album Notes

The Dreyer Brothers - A little western band based out of Snohomish, WA.

Randy, Doug and Stacey have been brothers for a long time now and have been playing music since a young age. I asked Stacey Dreyer how he would classify the type of music the group plays and he said it’s a nice blend of old cowboy songs and gospel music.

Doug Dreyer is the songwriter for the band while Randy Dreyer helps out, the best he can, with the arrangements. The other complement to the band is Marty Dahlgren, who plays fiddle like no one else. This is a great band, you gotta come see these guys, or at least check out their CD.

REVIEWS

Good, honest country music
author: Toby Hanson
This CD is a great example of what country music can be when it is balanced between tradition and progression. The songs are all flawlessly executed in a style that would be at home both for long-time country fans and new country fans alike. The instrumental playing on the album shines but the real superlative is the brothers' three-part harmony vocals. They blend with the ease and sweetness of seasoned professionals. Another standout aspect of this disc is the songwriting of Doug Dreyer. He's a first-rate wordsmith who writes engaging lyrics while avoiding the smarmy patina of so many Nashville contemporaries. The band is tight, the voices glorious and the music superb. Buy this CD.

The tight harmonies are the best part
author: Nevada Slim
This record is just the thing for gospel and secular fans who like song treatments with a good old-fashioned country bite. I particularly like the rendition of the Eagle Song, and of Tony Reed's Ridin' that Southline Fence. The beautiful, tight harmonies, are what these guys do best.

Absolutely Awesome CD, Love it, Love it, Love it!
author: Cheryl Watts
The harmony on this CD is fantastic! I love the little 'du-wats' of background harmony in 'From a Jack to a King'. Reminds me of the Ink Spots or some other old classic harmony groups except this one is done with a country song! That makes it so unique in listening pleasure. I love the original songs on this CD written by Doug Dreyer. He has a real talent!

Randy is right…. you gotta buy this CD! It's spectacular!
author: Ro Remick
This CD shows that these boys are singers, top-notch musicians and songwriters plus the arrangements are incredibly unique. What a talented family! The CD style is a brilliant mix of Western Music and Country Gospel. The cowboy songs are the music of the great American Southwest. Think chuck wagons, cattle drives, gunfighters, Boot Hill and tumbling tumbleweeds blowing across the prairie. Then picture those cowboys singing gospel songs around the evening campfire. These cowboys must have listened to the Ink Spots and the Mills Brothers before making this CD because I can sure hear the influence in the brothers’ distinctive style! Randy is right… you gotta buy this CD!
